Well Contested Sites is a 13- minute dance/theater film that explores the issue of mass incarceration and the complexity of experiences faced by those who are incarcerated in jails/prisons. The film is collaboration between Bay Area performing artists, some of who were previously incarcerated, filmmaker Austin Forbord and choreographer Amie Dowling. The piece was developed and filmed on Alcatraz Island.
